The SD14 from Sigma boasts many improvements over the SD10.
As the model number would suggest, capture resolution is up from 10 to 14 megapixels, but there’s a lot more to the SD14 than a simple boost in image resolution.

Fujifilm first leapt into the digital SLR market in 2000 with the 3.1-megapixel S1 Pro, a respectable camera based on Nikon bodywork, but incorporating the company’s own image-capture chip, the SuperCCD.

With Nikon’s S line getting four new cameras and the L line getting three new cameras, we’re left with the single camera update to Nikon’s Performance (P) line. The Nikon Coolpix P5000 features 10 megapixel resolution, a 3.5x optical zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD, and plenty of advanced features meant to appeal to the enthusiast or someone who wants a compact camera to take along when they’re tired of carrying their “big”

The Nikon D40 was announced just in time for the holiday buying season. Nikon??™s goal with the D40 was to introduce an affordable digital SLR that is easy to use and compact to address a couple of the reasons why people decide against buying a digital SLR. The D40 features a 6.1 megapixel DX format sensor, a 2.5 inch LCD with a nice graphical user interface, and it comes as a kit with an 18-55mm lens for under $600.

Since this is a digital SLR, you get a true optical viewfinder. The viewfinder is actually very nice and bright. A diopter adjustment is available so that the focus point marks and information in the viewfinder are sharp. The viewfinder covers about 95% of the actual captured image. While shooting, camera settings (focus, metering, exposure compensation, aperture, shutter speed, etc) are very visible in green text and symbols below the frame.

The Nikon Coolpix S7c was announced back in August, along with the S9 and S10. The S7c stood out from its brethren because it looked different and Nikon was really working the ???style??? edge just a bit more with this camera, announcing limited edition cases ready for the holiday buying season. Besides its nice looks, the camera takes 7.1 megapixel images, has a 3x optical zoom, electronic vibration reduction and a very large 3 inch LCD. If that??™s not enough, Nikon tossed in a wireless radio and a year subscription to T-Mobile Hotspots so you can send pictures to your friends via the Coolpix Connect service.

The 7.1 megapixel Nikon Coolpix S7c is a very nice looking camera. As part of the S (or Style) line, it gets the familiar “wave” design that has been used on previous S models. The S7c also features a WiFi radio, a 3 inch screen and a 3x optical zoom. We’ll be posting our full review soon, but wanted to give you a little taste of things to come. Without further ado, here are our first impressions.
As far as looks, this camera will definitely turn some heads. The S7c is an ultra-slim camera with nice glossy gray finish and chrome accents. The 3 inch screen (230K pixels, 170 degree viewing angle) on the back will have all sorts of people wanting to look over your shoulder and it’s bright enough to look good to people viewing it off to the side. Since Nikon includes its Pictmotion slideshows (with music and effects), they definitely wanted to make sure that a group of people could watch at once.
